Etienne Franzi
Career
Étienne Franzi is a leading figure in the field of finance and administration in Monaco. He began his career at Crédit Lyonnais in Paris in 1971, where he held several positions until 1979, including Secretary to the Chairman of the Board of Directors and to the Executive Committee.
In 1979, Étienne Franzi joined the Monegasque Administration, where he initially served as Chargé de mission in the Finance and Economy Department until 1981. He was then appointed Director of Commerce, Industry and Industrial Property in 1981, a position he held until 1982. From 1983 to 1988, he was Director General of the Department of Finance and the Economy. His administrative career continued as Permanent Delegate to International Organisations from 1988 to 1994, and finally as Government Councillor for Finance and the Economy.
In 1996, Étienne Franzi was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Compagnie Monégasque de Banque (CMB Monaco). He held this position until 2005, when he became Chairman of CMB Monaco, a position he still holds today.
Alongside his main responsibilities, Étienne Franzi is active in a number of other organisations. In 1999, he was elected Chairman of the Association Monégasque des Activités Financières (AMAF). In 2004, he was also appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of Monaco Telecom.
Étienne Franzi's distinguished career has earned him several prestigious awards. He is Commander of the Order of Saint Charles (Principality of Monaco), Knight of the National Order of Merit (France), and Grand Officer of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem (Holy See).
