Banking Security
Your vigilance and our expertise, working together for your peace of mind.
CMB Monaco supports you on a daily basis to help you understand the mechanisms of fraud and cybercrime, adopt the right habits, and protect your assets with confidence.
Best practices to adopt
Four simple steps can significantly strengthen the protection of your banking access. We invite you to adopt them today.
1. Choose a strong, unique password
A robust password combines uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters — and becomes more secure as it grows longer. Avoid any personal information that can be easily guessed (date of birth, first name, phone number), and never reuse the same password across multiple sites: if one is compromised, the others remain protected.
2. Enable strong authentication on your mobile application
CMB Monaco recommends activating two-factor verification on its mobile application, combining Face ID or Touch ID with your personal PIN code. This additional layer of security ensures that only you can validate a connection or a transaction, even in the event of loss or theft of your device.
3. Keep your phone and application up to date
Updates to your operating system and the CMB Monaco application go beyond introducing new features: they also patch identified security vulnerabilities. Enable automatic updates and regularly check that your application is running its latest version, available on the App Store or Google Play.
4. Avoid public Wi-Fi networks for your banking operations
Open Wi-Fi networks (hotels, cafés, airports) can be intercepted or compromised by malicious third parties. Always use your mobile data connection or a secure personal network to access your banking space, and use a trusted VPN if in any doubt.
