How do I use the travel cover?

It’s really simple - just pay for your “trip” (see definition below) using your Card and you’re covered.

Let’s go through the definition of a ‘trip’ according to the terms of the cover –

“Trip” shall mean a journey by a Public Vehicle outside the Beneficiary’s Country of Residence, which has been paid for in full in advance on a Card.

The Trip:

(a) must commence and end in the Cardholder’s Country of Residence; or

(b) in respect of a journey within the Cardholder’s Country of Residence, must include:

(i) a flight; or

(ii) at least one night of pre-booked accommodation more than fifty (50) kilometres away from home and paid on a Card.

Each Trip must not exceed ninety (90) consecutive days, with a maximum of one hundred and eighty (180) days during each twelve (12) month period.

Public Vehicle = airplane, ferry, train, coach, bus etc.

Cardholder’s / Beneficiary’s Country of Residence = where you live

Card = your CMB Monaco card

Basically, if you use your card to pay an airline or ferry company direct for flights or crossings to go on a trip, then you are covered; if you use your card to book a package holiday with a tour operator to go on a trip, you are covered; if you are taking a holiday with friends and sharing the accommodation cost, or staying with friends or family in the UK or elsewhere and you use your card to pay for your flights or ferry, train or bus etc., to go on the trip, you are covered.

Who is Covered?

“Beneficiary” shall mean: (i) Cardholders and their Families; and (ii) Supplementary Cardholders and their Families.

“Family” or “Families” shall mean the Cardholder’s partner or spouse living at the same address as the Cardholder and the Cardholder’s Children.

“Children” or “Child” shall mean any of the Cardholder’s children travelling with the Cardholder (including step-children, fostered or adopted children) under the age of 22 on the first day of a Trip, who are resident with the Cardholder for the majority of the year prior to the Trip, financially dependent on the Cardholder and not in full time employment.
